The Last Train to Sugartown is a darkly comedic movie centered on the efforts of two struggling independent film-makers who embark on a series of inept robberies in a desperate attempt to raise funds for their movie. This is a character-driven ‘fish-out-of-water’ farce of accidental murder and female empowerment. It will be shot entirely on location in British Columbia in 2017.
Nathanael Vass is a graduate of UBC’s Film Studies and Creative Writing programs. An experienced and versatile actor on both stage and screen, Nathanael has appeared in a multitude of independent theatre, film and TV productions. In The Last Train To Sugartown, Nathanael plays Olso.
Stephanie Iszak is a Canadian actor and writer. A graduate of the top Canadian theatre conservatory, she has been awarded the Sydney J. Risk Foundation Award, is a multi-time Jesse Richardson Award Nominee. In The Last Train To Sugartown, Stephanie plays Violet.
Michel Duran. Originally from France but now based in Vancouver, Michel Duran is a Franco-Canadian actor, director and producer. His first feature film, Soufflé au Chocolat was screened at the Rendez-vous du Cinéma Québécois et Francophone, at the Sonoma International Film Festival and gathered 5 nominations at the 2013 Leo Awards for Best pictures, Direction, Screenwriting, Cinematography and Musical Score. In The Last Train To Sugartown Michel plays Harry.
